New Year

I can't believe I'm here already. 2012. Supposedly, this is our final year on Earth according to various doomsayers. It's a shame that I won't even be able to experience the joy of having a bachelor degree. All that time wasted in school. Blurgh!

Seriously though, this has been the best New Years celebration I've ever experienced. That's really not saying much considering the fanciest thing I've ever done for the New Year has been to munch on popcorn while watching the gigantic NYC ball drop, but this year I was a lot closer to the ball dropping action (Hehe). For the first time in my life, I went to New York City! I have pictures as proof.
First time I've ever ridden a train. I had to make my inner Tennessean known by snapping a picture as our train was approaching our platform. I thought the New Haven, CT train station (which I didn't take a picture of) was fairly impressive, but it was nothing compared to Grand Central.
Grand Central! I was awestruck by its immensity and by the amount of people walking about, but apparently it wasn't even really all that busy despite it being New Year's Eve. I'm a little sad that I didn't get a picture of the ceiling, but I'll save that for my next visit.

Outside of Grand Central. I just wanted to get a picture of the New York atmosphere--something completely foreign to me.More NYC randomness. Shortly after this, my phone died so I had to use my friend's phone to take pictures. I can show them later--whenever my laziness decides to stop haunting me.

But yeah, NYC. Fun. Being there just made me jealous of New Yorkers and the metro life, but it looks like I'll be stuck in Tennessee for a while. Bah.

I also visited Connecticut and found it pretty lovely. I have pictures of my time there too, but I must acknowledge my laziness again. Heh. Maybe I'll post them whenever I'm feeling nostalgic for New England.

Resolutions for the New Year? I never make these, but this year I'm going to put a greater effort forward in being more sociable and friendly. I realize that I often sulk and that my sulking is needless.

Happy New Year!
